Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair, Custer, WI
Each June, the Midwest Renewable Energy Associationís Renewable Energy and Sustainable Living Fair draws thousands of people from around the world to Custer, Wisconsin for three days of workshops, entertainment, demonstrations, shopping, exhibits and food in a festival atmosphere. The 2005 event drew 16,000 fair-goers and involved over 200 volunteers.
True to its mission of helping people learn sustainable lifestyles, the Fair demonstrates a comprehensive array of ways to limit trash through recycling, reuse, and even using dishware made from compostable corn and potato starch.
